Hi Xiao, yes, bootstrapping refers only to random sampling with replacement. The second sentence is more of a comment regarding how RF will bootstrap and was not meant to be the definition of bootstrapping. I can see how that would be confusing with both sentences together. I will move that sentence to one of the paragraphs below so that it is less confusing. Thanks for stopping by.
